SDI Level 1 Spearfishing Course

Advance your spearfishing to the ocean with the next level in spear training. Building on the foundations learned from the SDI Basic Spearfishing Course, the SDI Spearfishing Level 1 course is a practical ocean-based program, applying your training to an open water environment. Learn to spear smarter and safer with a developed understanding of proper shore entries and exits, team spearfishing, and different spearing techniques.

Your instructor will reinforce rescue skills to deal with blackout and LMC, help you build shooting skills with targets, and provide guidance in the hunting of appropriate fish species – perhaps you’ll even take some dinner home afterwards!

 All of our courses are conducted with our proudly established small course ratios (max 4:1). Designed exclusively by Dive Spear and Sport for the local spearing community.

Pre-Requisites

1. SDI Medical Questionnaire - before signing up for this course you will need to review this form, if you answer YES to any of the questions you will need to complete a medical assessment with a qualified dive doctor. 2.  Minimum age 18 (Age 12 through to 17 may join with parental consent)
